As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Submissions
The William & Mary Educational Review represents the many and varied voices within the field of education. All educational researchers and practitioners are welcomed and encouraged to submit pieces that relate to and help advance understanding within the field of education.
Submissions for feature articles may include any formal paper that contains original research or design and relates to the field of education. Submissions may also include case studies and literature reviews on educational topic areas.
All submissions should be sent to address=wmedreview@wm.edu" link="1">. The subject line should read “WMER Submission.”
Submissions should be sent as a Microsoft Word file. Please name the submission file as follows: Lastnamefirstinitial.doc (for example, SmithB.doc). If there is more than one author, include each author’s name (for example, SmithB_JohnsonA_JonesC.doc). The file will be renamed by the managing editor upon receipt to ensure anonymity.
Please submit a regular and a masked version of your manuscript. Authors should use brackets to indicate masking of particular identifying information. For example, do not refer to Matthew Whaley Elementary School as the location of your practicum or internship. Instead, refer to the [elementary school]. This will help to protect your anonymity and preserve the integrity of our peer-review process.
Any manuscript detailing research conducted on human subjects must also submit evidence of IRB approval.
Attach a separate page that includes: name(s), current address(es), current phone number(s), institution(s), and program name(s) for each author.
Manuscripts should be written in English and adhere to guidelines set forth in the current (7th) edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, including in-text citations and references.
Manuscripts may be no longer than 5,000 words. Cover page, abstract, and references are not counted against the length.
Abstracts may be no longer than 150 words and should include keywords.
